Having seen the results of our work in our first 2 schools and the large number of Schools in central Malawi that desperately need support, we plan to start working with 2-3 schools a year (rather than just one every 3 years)
To help with this effort we have decided to accelerate our work in Malawi with the employment of Oscar Mponda as Country Director.
Previously Oscar has been working for us part time whilst he has been employed as Education and Projects Officer with the Anglican Church.
From January 2024 Oscar will work with us full time.
Oscar is already well known to many of our donors and supporters as our person on the ground. For 5 years he has been our adviser and project manager. For the last year, he has also been a Trustee of our UK charity.
In the move to employment he will be able to spend more time in the field, talking with head teachers and pupils and making sure our work is effective. He will also be involved in Donor meetings.
Before his role with the Diocese, Oscar was programs manager and Deputy Chief of Part for a USAID funded project to improve primary schools in Malawi.
