It is with great pleasure that we can announce that in mid May 2023 the Girls hostel project was completed.
30 girls are in the process of moving in, with up to another 10 to follow.
Turn your sound on and watch the video to get a sense of the joy of the community at the opening ceremony performed by the Bishop.
We are extremely grateful to our many donors who have made this ambitious goal a reality. Not only did the building get finished on time and on budget but funds were also made available for fit out with solar panels and bunk beds.
Particular thanks to the Generations Foundation who made much of the building work possible, and the Coles Medlock Foundation who enabled the provision of solar power and mattresses.
The school is thriving, with a new headmaster now in place, and pupil numbers approaching 160 in regular attendance.
During the UK school summer holidays, Frensham Heights School will visit and do some further projects including setting up a small kitchen for the girls, as well as some teaching of the children. This will be the seventh (and largest) trip by Frensham Heights, reinforcing the partnership between the schools.
